Logo and Portrait Work

December was such a busy month for me, filling portrait and fine art orders. In addition to my usual work, I had the pleasure of designing a new logo for a local dog trainer. My dog’s dog trainer, in fact!

When we adopted our dog 2 years ago, he was a transfer from Texas, where he was picked up as a stray. We quickly found out he needed a LOT of training, and we helped him learn not to counter surf, that chewing on drywall was not a great idea, and that snuggling on the couch was in fact, a wonderful thing.

We contacted Katie’s Clever Canines when we realized he had major anxiety when going on a walk, and she helped us find a good comfortable rhythm for him and a way to exercise him without causing anxiety. Her training has helped me gain the confidence to work on training him myself in other areas and to understand where his anxiety may have stemmed from.

So when she contacted me to help redesign her logo, I was more than happy to work with her. This logo was so much fun to work on!

This is my dog, Zeus, by the way. Look at that goofy face!!

I was also using that time to develop another way of rendering portraits on my iPad, you can see an example above. I’m looking for a watercolor look, while still working digitally. I’ve been trying to get this look for about 3 years, and I think my persistence has finally paid off! I just added new options in my portrait shop for this watercolor look, if you are interested in checking them out.
